What’s new and improved

New interactive tools and formats, including adaptive learning, will focus on the patient, and support the learning process according to the learner’s level of proficiency and learning style:

  • Adaptive learning courses will adjust to the learner’s level of proficiency to overcome knowledge gaps
  • E-semiology modules with seizure videos and exercises challenge learners to recognize and correctly classify the seizure
  • Patient cases guide advanced decision making about common and rare types of epilepsy by visualizing learning with videos (seizures and EEGs) and the new integrated EEG and MRI readers
  • MRI reading platform to support the learner’s proficiency in MRI diagnosis
  • Virtual, tutored webtorial series on pre-defined topics for small groups in different languages and time zones

    • The Level 2 program is launched

      Learn more about the Level 1 and new Level 2 program in general or read the Level 2 User Guide for your specific questions.
      Read about the launch of ILAE Academy Level 2, A structured, blended learning program towards proficiency in epileptology. Blümcke et al., Epileptic Disorders (2022)

    • Epilepsy Neuroimaging - Level 2 self-paced course launched

      The Epilepsy Neuroimaging self-paced course is now available for participants subscribed to the Level 2 program. Completion of this course grants 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
      The course content provides background information regarding neuroimaging in epilepsy, presented with examples using an interactive MRI reader. The learner will be challenged with landmark exercises and 10 cases, using the interactive MRI reader. 


    • Learn with cases: 15 courses presenting patient cases of common epilepsies are available for the Level 1.

                37.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ available for completion of these 15 patient cases.
                Please note: only achievable for sbscriptions to the Level 1 program in 2022 or for Level 2 subscriptions, where the Level 1 program is included. 


                • Content available in SPANISH


                  The course content 'Histopathology in a nutshell' (Level 1) is also available in Spanish. This language version is available to anyone who has purchased the Level 1 Full Package. Further instructions are provided in the HELP section of the ILAE Academy under FAQs. More course content will be provided in Spanish and further languages in the course of this year.
