With permission of the Emory online EEG course faculty, Emory University School of Medicine Epilepsy Center, the ILAE is sharing the Emory online EEG course with their learners of the Level 2 program on the ILAE Academy.
The goal of this course is to provide a structured framework for teaching and learning EEG through a comprehensive and interactive educational curriculum, that uses real case examples, provides direct feedback without the need for faculty supervision, is self-paced and available at any time online.
This course was created in 2020-2021 by Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology faculty and fellows at Emory University School of Medicine. It consists of two pre-course knowledge assessments followed by 10 interactive lessons (introduction in EEG, electrodes and montages, normal adult EEG, normal EEG variants, artifacts, non-epileptiform, interictal and ictal epileptiform abnormalities, EEG in the ICU and neonatal EEG), and two post-course knowledge assessments with scoring and direct feedback. It has been tested institutionally and was shown to improve knowledge and level of confidence in interpreting EEG (Neurology, May 03, 2022; 98 (18 Supplement)).
The course is freely accessible through the Emory University Epilepsy vision websites.
Please be aware: As participant of the ILAE Academy Level 2 program, you need to complete the course on the ILAE Academy to earn your ILAE credits.
- Epilepsy Neuroimaging - Level 2 self-paced course
The Epilepsy Neuroimaging self-paced course is now available for participants subscribed to the Level 2 program. Completion of this course grants 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
The course content provides background information regarding neuroimaging in epilepsy, presented with examples using an interactive MRI reader. The learner will be challenged with landmark exercises and 10 cases, using the interactive MRI reader.
The Epilepsy Neuroimaging self-paced course is now available for participants subscribed to the Level 2 program. Completion of this course grants 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
